The amount you need depends on your hair type and your hair goals. Generally, those wanting extensions for colour (e.g. highlights/lowlights) or volume in certain areas (e.g. sides) may only require 50g. If you are wanting allover thickness or have thin hair wanting length, 100g could work. For thicker hair wanting length a minimum of 150g-200g is needed for natural looking results.
Have a read of our guides for more information but remember, consultations are always required before your first fitting.
Maintenance depends on how fast your hair grows however, it is recommended between 6-8 weeks. After your first fitting you will get an idea on when your maintenance is required and can book in advance. Be aware that overdue maintenance can result in loss of tapes and in some cases, matting of your natural hair.
Matting occurs when a clump of tangles and knots form overtime due to shedded hairs, making it difficult to brush out and can lead to breakage. The quality of our hair extensions means they will not matt however, your natural hair can depending on aftercare and maintenance.
If you're still cautious about making a big investment, why not try 50g first (approx. 20 tapes) so you can get a better idea of what tapes are like in terms of quality, look, feel, maintenance and durability. When you're convinced, the rest of your hair will be ordered and can be fitted asap or during your refit appointment. Check our prices here.
Tape in extensions are the least damaging method of hair extensions. The condition of your hair can actually improve when wearing tapes depending on the quality of adhesive tape used, mindful application and correct aftercare. Click here to see our natural hair transformations!
Yes. With the flexibility of our tape extensions and the strategic placement, hair can be tied up and styles multiple ways without being visible. If there is a hair style you're concerned about, let us know during your consultation and see how we can adapt to your needs.
Our hair is 100% high quality human hair and can be treated almost the same as your natural hair however, to maintain the quality you have to take more care of it. For a longer lifespan, we recommend using minimal heat especially on lighter shades as this can also discolour extensions. When using heat ALWAYS use heat protect and use cool/low setting. Don't exceed 180 degrees.
Yes it is possible! You just have to follow certain steps before and after your fitting to manage the excess oil production. This includes; washing hair with cleansing shampoo on the day of fitting appointment, no conditioner or products are to be used before fitting and say hello to your new best friend - dry shampoo. If you have concerns, we can give you tailored advise during your consultation.
Tape in extensions are the most lightweight and non-damaging method (no glue, heat, chemicals or tension) which is incredibly important for protecting thin hair.
If your hair is extremely thin, the weight of two tapes sandwiched together might still be too much for you. I offer a special technique best suited for thin hair to ensure everyone can experience the positives of tape ins - book your consultation to find out more.
Yes. You can do all the things you did before just with caution. For example, we recommend avoiding hair exposure to chlorine by wearing a swimming cap as the chemicals can cause damage and discolouration. Scroll down to the aftercare section in FAQ's to learn more.
Of course! Having tape in extensions just means you might only need a half head instead of a full head - barg! This can also improve your hair's condition but make sure you have a colourist who is experienced in colouring with extensions. Another option is to arrange your colour appointments around the time of your maintenance so I can remove extensions and refit them after it's dyed.
With our hair extensions being 100% human hair, dying a darker shade is possible but not recommended in order to keep the extensions in their best condition for longer. Never lighten or bleach. This is why it is important to have the right colour for your consultation.
If you want to change up your look (highlights, lowlights, root drag etc), we can add a new pack and slowly make the transitions to ensure you get the most out of your old extensions.
After a fitting you should wait 48 hours to wash your hair to make sure the adhesive has properly adhered to your natural hair. I have tried and tested different types of adhesive tapes and have found the ones with the strongest holding power whilst being gentle to sensitive scalps. Just be cautious when applying conditioner & hair oil as this will weaken tapes and cause them to slip.
Seamless tapes as opposed to standard tapes actually mimic a natural root instead of a having a visible plastic tab.
Apart from making them the most discreet option for hair extensions, they also sit flat and are soft to touch so they feel undetectable in your head and they have a flexible tab over a more rigid tab allowing you to style your hair however you want without exposing obvious tape tabs!
I believe the most crucial part of your #TapeInTransformation is the colour match. This needs to be done PERFECTLY to ensure flawless results. I currently have 55+ shades to work with & the ability to blend a selection of shades together to achieve your. exact. match!
I also have the skills & experience to colour match online, so for those who aren't local for a face to face consultation, you can too feel confident in getting your perfect match. Get colour matched today.
Aside from the fact we use seamless tapes which are virtually undetectable, the chances of tape in extensions becoming visible depends on two factors - application and maintenance.
When it comes to my work, I tailor every application to suit the individual. Having tape in extensions myself, I’m aware that everyone is different. I assess different hair types, understand my clients & how they like to style their hair and from that, I can adapt my placement so your tape in extensions do not come on show. But ofc, when your tapes grow out it’s a different story & that's when you know it's maintenance time!
Single drawn and double drawn are terms used to describe different types of hair used for hair extensions. As a promise to always provide you with the best quality on the market, I only offer double drawn hair extensions.
Single drawn is a standard bunch of single strands which contains a mix of 50% full length hairs and 50% varied length hairs resulting in thinner extensions that can lack volume.
Double drawn means around 80% of hairs are all the same long length as shorter hairs are removed & replaced, which creates effortless volume & thickness. Having hair extensions that are thick from root to tip means you're purchasing fewer packs in return for better quality.
50g of our seamless tape in extensions include 20 individual tape wefts. Each tape weighs 2.5g which is more than other tape hair on the market. This is thanks to our high quality double drawn hair providing thickness from root to tip! Quality over quantity <3
Where your hair is sourced matters in terms of quality and ethicality. We only offer Russian/Mongolian hair that has been ethically sourced from the southern regions to ensure the highest quality and longevity. With quality comes price, that's why we're proud to offer the best quality at affordable prices.
I aim to make conscious decisions wherever I can as a small business, from the suppliers I choose to the quality of hair extensions I use to how I dispose of old hair.
I'm proud to work with Sway who are partnered with ONE TREE PLANTED and have upgraded their packaging to biodegradable mailers, pouches, labels and stickers as a more eco-friendly alternative to plastics!
I only use 100% cruelty free, ethically sourced, high-quality hair that will last you longer, making it more sustainable on the planet compared to cheaper hair extensions laced with synthetics that will need to be re-purchased after a couple of weeks use.
I offer services such as the 'refreshment pack' to ensure you get the most out of your hair's lifespan before getting a complete new set.
Once the hair is longer needed, I donate it as part of Clean Wave's hair recycling scheme to help towards cleaning up our oceans & sustaining sea life.
